The teams are separated by a net, over which a ball is hit back and forth with the arms only. Each time the ball is on one side of the net, that team can only have three contacts with the ball while trying to get it over the net to the other team. No player can make contact with the ball twice in each play.

When a team comes together for the start of the season, the players may not know much about their teammates other than they play volleyball. Since the sport is dependent on teamwork and knowing the right play to make at the key movement, it's best for you, the coach, to employ teambuilding activities for players to perform well when the game is on the line.
Serving in Volleyball Team Drills. The serving-passing drill should go through all various serving spots. There are at least four spots, where servers should aim their serves: the spots between the passers (2 of them) and both side lines (2). Servers also need to have short serves in their serving repertoire.
If the passer likes to take everything with their hands, work them short. Team volleyball drills such as Black Sheep are great for working on both serving and passingskills. The server is working on learning how to discover a passer's weaknesses. The passer learns how to concentrate on passing when being picked on.
